13 Feb New at mac: yoga based on the five elements of Ayurveda
mac Yoga introduces a new series of yoga classes, based on the five elements of Ayurveda. In five theme weeks we treat earth, water, fire, air and ether, as they are present in nature and in yourself! The first class is Monday 17 February at 9 a.m. and is taught by Caroline in her regular class. Of course, you can participate in the class if you have a mac Yoga membership. Non-members pay 15 euros per class.
The classes are every Monday, with exception of February 24 (carnaval). During the classes the focus is on movement, breathing, concentration, meditation and relaxation. The classes are very suitable for beginners (as an introduction to yoga), but certainly also for advanced yoga practitioners.
We start this series with the earth element, which resembles grounding, stability and a motherly energy. During the class our focus will be on those qualities of the earth element. This means a calm/slow and grounding Hatha Yoga class with a few balancing poses.

The second class of our ayurvedic series is about the water element. Water is the cool, liquid and soft element. During this class we will move more fluidly, while poses transition gently into one another.

We move on to the fire element. Fire stands for transformation, strength, joy and warmth. During this more active class we will boost your mood and experience this strength by actively using our abdominal muscles.

The air element is dynamic and creates movement. During this class we move more actively and work with different breathing exercises.

Participate in this class and learn to breathe consciously!
Ether or space is the element related to spirituality. During this lesson we work on turning inwards. Finding peace in yourself. By staying in poses for a Longer time and using your breath we come to a meditative state.
